IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • How do I purchase a Starwood Farm Australian Shepherd puppy?
    1. If you are interested in purchasing a puppy, please email us: oldstarwood@gmail.com or call (417) 929-1468. 2. We are accepting reserve deposits of $200. Your name will then be added to the waiting list. The order of the waiting list will be based on the date the deposit is received. 3. Select your puppy from online photos. We plan to update the photos weekly or biweekly. 4. Your puppy will be ready for its new family at 8 weeks of age.
  • Do you have a recommended diet for the puppies?
We use Purina Pro Plan, but there are other good dog food brands. See the DogFoodAdvisor's website for recommended dog foods for Australian Shepherds.
  • What is the return policy?
We are careful when selecting a new home for our puppies. If, for whatever reason, you are unable to properly care for your new addition to your family, please contact us sooner, rather than later.
  • What shots will my puppy have and need?
The puppies will be seen and evaluated by out vet. They will receive the recommended vaccinations and deworming medications at the appropriate age. A detailed list and schedule of medications given will be provided. You will need to take your new puppy to your veterinarian within a couple weeks of bringing them home.
  • Tails?
Pax and Zoe both have their natural tails. The AKC standard, however, is for tails to be docked soon after birth. We have yet to find a good reason for this practice, other than the inertia of convention. Our dogs run freely through fields and woods, and they have been around cattle and occasionally clumsy people. Their tails have never been a problem. That said, the practice of docking a tail inflicts little harm to the puppy, and tails can be docked upon request. Our personal belief is that tail docking is an outdated and odd practice that will soon be discarded.
